This is an antique hand-quilted whole cloth quilt, dating to approximately 1885–1915. Rather than pieced blocks, the beauty of this quilt comes from its all-over rose print and the hand-stitched diagonal/diamond quilting that adds both texture and depth.
The quilt is hand quilted in a traditional diamond pattern, with visible, sometimes slightly irregular stitches. It is backed with a woven striped cotton fabric typical of late 19th- and early 20th-century utility textiles and finished with a narrow cotton geometric pattern that is machine-stitched to the back and hand-stitched to the front. The cotton batting is lightweight.
Excellent condition for its age, with no condition issues noted.
