There is something so cheerful and nostalgic about this classic Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt, circa 1960s-1970s. It is made from bold red hexagon rings with soft butter-yellow paths and bright aqua centers. Each individual hexagon has been hand-quilted in the outline of the hexagon in tiny stitches. There is a four-sided red and blue border that has been quilted in diagonals.
The back is bright red cotton while the binding is blue cotton that has been machine-stitched to both sides.
The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with two small (less than 1/16 inch) toning spots on one "garden" and a dark red mark circle (the size of a nickel) on red part of the border. See photos.
