  • Details
This antique Log Cabin quilt dates to the late 1920s to early 1930s and is constructed in the classic Barn Raising pattern, one of the most iconic and visually striking Log Cabin arrangements. The quilt's 1920 dating is clear from its pastel cottons, small-scale printed fabrics, early shirting stripes, and a printed backing typical of domestic textiles from the late 1910s/interwar period.

The back is a beautiful blue and dark grey floral/geometric print while the binding is a blue and white cotton that has been hand-stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is light-to-medium weight.

The quilt is in very good antique condition with overall fading of the fabrics and with some minor shattering of one red center and one of the gray shirtings. There are also some small tears and discolorations near the corners of the back fabric. See photos.

    Measuring 74” x 80”, the quilt comes from a smoke-free, pet-free home and is pictured on a queen-size bed.
