Antique LeMoyne Star Quilt c.1920s | Hand-Quilted | Pink & Red Heirloom Quilt | 71"x78"

This exceptional antique LeMoyne Star quilt dates to the 1920s-early 1930s and it is entirely hand-pieced and hand-quilted. The quilt features classic eight-point LeMoyne Star blocks set within a striking red and soft pink checkerboard layout.

The star points are pieced from period shirtings and dress cottons—plaids, stripes, and checks—creating beautiful variation from block to block. The pink setting fabric shows the gentle tone typical of early fugitive dyes, while the red ground provides a strong contrast. The hand quilting is even, precise and tiny and runs evenly in diagonals through the quilt.

The back is a woven striped cotton in a deep dusty rose with narrow white pinstripes that has a matte, homespun appearance and an uneven weave that is typical of early 20th century utility and shirting cottons. The back has been turned to the front and machine stitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is lightweight.

This quilt is in excellent condition: structurally sound, well preserved, and displays beautifully. No condition issues noted.
