$396.00 $495.00

  • Details
Often mistaken for a standard Dresden Plate, the pattern of this exquisite 1930s Grandmother’s Sunburst Quilt is characterized by its striking two-color petal arrangement. This quilt features a cheerful "Sherbet" palette of mint green and butter yellow against a crisp white ground. Each "plate" consists of alternating yellow and green petals radiating from a warm peach center.

The quilt has been intricately hand-quilted with exceptional motifs, including twisted rope and unique twisted rope expanded motifs, along with sunburst motifs in the white "negative space". The stitch-per-inch count is high, reflecting the skill of a dedicated maker.
    • Scalloped Edge/Unique Border: The quilt is finished with a beautiful, labor-intensive four-sided striped border that uses the same sherbet colors of the body of the quilt, finished with a scalloped edge.
    • Back/Binding/Batting: The back is yellow cotton as is the binding which has been hand-stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is lightweight.

    Condition
This quilt is in excellent vintage condition. The colors remain vibrant with no significant fading. The fabric is strong and stable.
