  • Details
This is a simple yet beautiful early 20th century Diamond in the Square quilt, dating to the late 1920s–early 1930s, made during the golden era of early printed cottons and feed sack fabrics. The hand-quilting is even and precise and in patterns of cross-hatch grids as well as a twisted rope pattern in the sashing and in a modified feather wreath in the large center white diamond.

The back is pink floral cotton that has been turned to the front and hand-stitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is lightweight.

The quilt is in very good antique condition with a fraying and thinning binding (see photos) and at least one minor seam separation.
