Antique Cross Patch Quilt – 1800s Hand-Quilted Heirloom Textile (79"x86")

This is a late-19th-century Cross Patch Quilt, hand-pieced and hand-quilted circa 1875–1895, featuring period-correct fabrics including madder reds, early greens, indigo blues, and warm browns set against a white cotton ground. It has narrow sashing and bold pieced borders.

Hand quilting is in diagonal grids and small feathers while the back is cream/white cotton and the unsized cotton batting is lightweight.

The quilt is in very good antique condition with honest age wear that reflects more than a century of history including overall toning and dark tan toning spots on the back and front along with fabric thinning and loss on several blocks (see photos), especially in red prints, which is typical of 19th-century dyes and textiles. These areas have been left unrestored to preserve authenticity.
