Antique 1800s Barn Raising Log Cabin Quilt – Hand Pieced & Quilted – 84"x84"

This is an authentic 19th-century Log Cabin quilt in the classic Barn Raising configuration, dating to approximately 1870–1890. Entirely hand pieced and hand quilted, this quilt was constructed from a wide assortment of period cottons, including early madder reds, indigos, browns, and small-scale calico prints typical of the late 1800s.

The blocks are rotated to form the iconic Barn Raising layout with the quilt retaining strong visual impact and excellent color balance, with the red centers that signify the hearth of the home. The quilting is in outlines of the patchwork and in diagonals throughout the quilt.

The back is a brown floral that has been turned to the front and hand-stitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is lightweight.
