Vintage 1940s Child’s Quilt Top – Hand Cross-Stitched Nursery Animals – 38 1/2” x 60”

This sweet, whimsical 1940s child’s quilt top features charming nursery animals floating on clouds beneath stars and a smiling moon. Each figure — the teddy bear, bunny, elephant, and lamb — is worked in colorful hand cross-stitch, a quintessentially mid-century nursery design.

Please note: this is a quilt top only. It has no batting, needs to be quilted and bound.

The embroidery is entirely hand done in cross-stitch with outline accents in coordinating thread. The animals wear pajamas decorated with moons, stars, hearts, and diamond motifs, giving it a delightful bedtime theme. The palette of soft blue, butter yellow, pink, red, and warm brown is very characteristic of the 1940s–early 1950s era.

The quilt top only is in excellent vintage condition.
