This beautiful and very large Flower Vine Quilt Top or Summer Coverlet, dates to the 1940s to 1950s and features an elegant hand appliquéd and hand embroidered flower vine design arranged within a stitched trellis framework.
The flowers and leaves are individually hand appliquéd from plain-dyed cotton fabrics, then extensively embellished with hand embroidery using cotton threads. The color palette—soft pinks, blues, lavenders, and greens contrasts dramatically with the bold black stitched grid.
This quilt top/summer coverlet is in excellent vintage condition. The edges are fully finished for use as a summer coverlet, or batting can be added along with quilting.
