Vintage 1940s Dresden Plate Quilt – Hand Appliquéd, Hand Quilted, 82" x 82"

This is a wonderful 1940s Dresden Plate quilt with scrappy "plates", green accents and dense, expert hand-quilting. The plates are made from an assortment of vintage cotton prints — delicate florals, stripes, novelty feedsack-style fabrics, and prints in blues, corals, mint greens, and sunny yellows. The fine hand-quilting is in outlines of the patchwork plates and in dense cross-hatch grids throughout. The edge of the quilt is scalloped on all four sides.

The back is bright white cotton while the binding is very narrow green cotton that has been machine-stitched to the front and hand-stitched in tiny stitches to the back. The cotton batting is very lightweight.

The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with no condition issues noted.
