Vintage Depression Era Log Cabin Quilt, Hand Pieced & Hand Quilted, 68” x 86”

This beautiful vintage Log Cabin Quilt dates to the late Depression Era, approximately 1935–1945. It is entirely hand pieced and hand quilted, constructed from an assortment of 1930s scrap fabrics in geometrics, small-scale conversation prints and bright florals in a variety of favorite colors from the Depression-era, including:
• Bubblegum pink
• Butter / chrome yellow
• Nile and mint greens
• Cadet and powder blues

The back is white cotton, while instead of binding, the four-sided border has a sawtooth (prairie point) edging inserted into the border seam — a period finish seen on many 1930s–40s utility quilts. The cotton batting is lightweight.

The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with overall age-related fading of the fabrics.
