This joyful vintage crazy quilt/coverlet is a wonderful example of 1970s creativity and color. The quilt is constructed in classic “crazy quilt” fashion with irregularly shaped patches, each edged in decorative zigzag stitching. The fabrics are predominantly polyester and polyester blends in vibrant yellow, turquoise, hot pink, red, orange, and soft pastels — a palette that perfectly captures the cheerful spirit of the 1970s.
Many of the patches feature delicate floral embroidery, likely salvaged from mid-century dresser scarves and embroidered linens. The embroidery includes hand-stitched bouquets, butterflies, and blossoms.
The backing is a solid golden yellow polyester with simple outline quilting that follows large shapes across the surface.
This quilt/coverlet is in excellent vintage condition with no issues noted.
