This 1970s bedspread is a love-letter to Snoopy and Charlie Brown and at the same time an incredible, one-of-a-kind piece of folk art featuring the iconic Peanuts gang by Charles M. Schulz . It was not easily made, being a hand-tufted punch needle (hooked yarn) bedspread, it would have taken many, many hours, but the results are amazing. The characters are detailed and immediately recognizable.
The bedspread includes Snoopy's famous World War I Flying Ace dog house in the middle, with large motifs of Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Schroeder, Marcie and Peppermint Patty, all rendered in vibrant, 3D textured yarn. The "loop" technique gives the characters a raised relief against the crisp apricot-peach background, a classic late 60s/early 70s palette.
Condition: Excellent. This piece is in remarkable condition for its age. There are no missing loops, pulls, stains, or odors. The colors remain vibrant and it is fully intact. It appears to have been used as a display piece or stored with extreme care for the last 50 years.
