Vintage Flip-Flop Quilt – Handmade Beach / Summer Theme – 77” x 93”

This modern (2007) cheerful handmade flip-flop quilt is a delightful celebration of summer and beach style. The quilt features rows of colorful appliqué flip-flops, each pair made from different novelty fabrics including patriotic prints, whimsical characters, desserts, animals, Route 66 imagery, and other playful motifs. The result is a lively, graphic quilt that feels joyful and modern while showcasing careful handcraft.

Each flip-flop pair is appliquéd onto soft neutral blocks and framed with sashing printed with tiny flip-flops. The free-form long-arm quilting has been expertly and evenly done.

The backing fabric continues the summer theme with bright novelty prints of swimsuits, fruit, flowers, fish, and beach accessories on a blue gingham ground. The batting is lightweight and a stitched dedication label indicates the quilt was made in 2007 by "Dad".
