This beautiful oversized Broken Star Variation Quilt (circa 1960-1970s) has been hand-pieced and hand-quilted and features a dramatic radiating star design created from hundreds of carefully pieced diamonds arranged to form large starbursts across the quilt. The hand-quilting is in outlines of the patchwork.
The fabrics include calico and floral prints, including colors such as soft mint green, butter yellow, ivory, and rich reds, small-scale calico prints, delicate florals, and charming period fabrics.
The back is a lovely mint green floral cotton print and it is finished with a knife-edge border, a practical finishing technique where the backing is folded to the front instead of using a separate binding. The batting is lightweight.
The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with no issues noted.
