This is a beautiful authentic mid-century American scrap quilt, hand pieced and hand quilted in the classic Log Cabin pattern arranged in a Straight Furrows setting. The hand-quilting is in outlines of the patchwork and in cross-hatches in the center of each "log cabin".
This quilt incorporates a rich variety of fabrics from the 1950s and 1960s, including cheerful feed sack prints, shirtings, and workwear textiles. The result is a lively and visually textured quilt. The deep navy centers anchor each block, while the surrounding logs are filled with color—florals, plaids, stripes, and charming small-scale prints.
The back is a Robin's Egg blue, as is the binding that has been machine-stitched to the front and hand-stitched to the back. The cotton batting is lightweight.
The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with no issues noted.
