This cheerful mid-century crib-size quilt features a lively allover print of clowns juggling, dancing, and performing clownish antics. The central fabric is a classic novelty print from the postwar era with bright, saturated colors and cartoon figures that were popular in children’s fabrics of the late 1940s through the 1950s. The machine quilting is an all over meandering pattern.
A soft yellow border frames the print, finished with prairie points in alternating pastel yellow and aqua. The back is aqua cotton and the cotton batting is very lightweight.
The quilt is in very good vintage condition with some edge wear and some fraying to the prairie points, some of which have signs of small repairs. Overall it is sturdy and the vintage central fabric is in excellent condition.
