This is a spectacular vintage Hexagon Medallion Quilt, one of the most visually striking flower garden patterns that starts with a center "garden" and radiates outward in concentric circles of gardens with a kaleidoscope effect. It is also an impressive piece of work, with more than 3,500 individually hand-pieced hexagons, each of which has also been individually hand-quilted.
The colors include vivid turquoise blues, lavender and lilac prints, cheerful pinks, chrome yellows, peach florals, and emerald greens — all across a crisp white ground. The overall effect is almost kaleidoscopic, with each flower-like motif glowing against the next. The quilt is straight across on the top and bottom and has a scalloped edge along both sides.
The back is white cotton as is the binding that has been hand-stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is very lightweight.
CONDITION: The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with no issues noted.
