This is a lovely and exceptionally well-made vintage Log Cabin quilt in the Barn Raising pattern, dating to the early-to-mid 1970s quilting revival period. This quilt is entirely hand quilted in a braided rope pattern along the border and in outlines of the "logs" in the body of the quilt.
The fabrics include tiny florals, plaids, calicoes, and country-style prints in rich cranberry reds, muted blues, sage greens, warm tans, and creams. The striking red centers are a traditional touch signifying the hearth or the fireplace of the home, or the center of family life.
The back is Robins Egg blue tiny cotton print while the binding is a red cotton print that has been machine stitched to the front and hand-stitched to the back. The cotton batting is lightweight.
CONDITION: The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with no issues noted.
