$329.00

  • Details
A wonderfully cheerful mid-century Birds of the States Quilt featuring all 48 U.S. states at the time it was made (Hawaii and Alaska became states in 1959). Each state bird is embroidered along with the state's name. In addition to the hand-embroidery it has been hand quilted in a modified twisted rope pattern in the sashing and a braided rope pattern along the four-sided border.

The back is white cotton while the binding is finished in Prairie Points, a very popular edge treatment for quilts beginning in the late 1930s. The cotton batting is lightweight.

CONDITION: The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with no issues noted. It has been soaked and freshly washed with fragrance-free soap and line-dried outside, giving a light natural sun-dried cotton scent (not artificially fragranced).
