This beautiful quilt is a wonderful example of the Double Wedding Ring pattern with its expert hand quilting and scrappy rings filled with cheerful feedsack and other cottons in soft pastels, florals, checks, and vivid pops of color. Combined with the seafoam/mint green centers and intricate quilting, the quilt has an airy, cottage-style feel.
Dating to the 1930s or early 1940s, the quilt has been entirely hand stitched and hand quilted with tiny, curved piecing throughout and hand quilting in double outlines of the tiny patchwork and in geometric patterns in the open white areas. The back is white cotton while the binding is seafoam/mint green cotton that has been hand-stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is lightweight.
CONDITION: The quilt is in excellent, sturdy vintage condition with some thinning to one of the small curved pieces.
