This cheerful vintage Dresden Plate quilt is made from a combination of feedsack-era prints, bright reds, cheerful pinks, turquoise blues, polka dots, and tiny florals all scattered across a soft white background. It has a four-sided green and red patterned border.
The quilt dates from the late 1940s into the 1950s and was entirely hand assembled with hand appliqué and hand quilting throughout. The hand quilting is in outlines of the patchwork and in circles in the middle of each Dresden plate.
The back is white cotton that has been turned to the front and hand-stitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is lightweight.
CONDITION: The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with no issues noted. The quilt has been soaked, freshly hand-washed and line-dried, giving a light natural sun-dried cotton scent (not artificially fragranced).
