This is a very charming marriage of antique needlework and modern longarm quilting. It began life as an early 20th-century embroidered quilt top and was completed in the early 2000s with a new back, lightweight batting, expert longarm quilting, and a striking red prairie point border.
Scattered across a crisp ivory background are wonderful redwork motifs —birds, flowers, children at play, woodland animals, baskets, household objects, and scenes that reflect the folk-art charm of the early 1900s. Particularly striking are the embroidered foxes, birds in boats, and other storybook-style figures that give the quilt a playful quality.
The back is a red floral cotton print while red prairie points make up the binding. The batting is lightweight.
CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition. Please note that some of the blocks are darker ivory than others, but this is due to the original color of the fabric and is not a condition issue.
