This is a charming and classic 1940s crib-size kitten quilt featuring six wide-eyed kittens peeking out from hand appliqued fabric baskets, each created in a different pastel shade against a bright sky-blue and white checkerboard setting. The faces and features of the kittens are hand-embroidered as are the outlines of each basket.
The hand quilting is fine and even and in diagonal grids across the expanse of the quilt. The back is white cotton that has been turned to the front and handstitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is lightweight.
CONDITION: The quilt is in excellent vintage condition. Please examine the photographs as they form an important part of the description. The quilt has been professionally soaked, hand-washed and line-dried and has a light, natural sun-dried cotton scent (not artificially fragranced).
