Vintage 1970s Crib Quilt with Hand Embroidered Animals for Nursery, 42"x54'

Sweet and cheerful vintage handmade baby quilt, circa 1970-1980s, featuring a collection of embroidered zoo animals in bright rainbow colors against a soft buttery yellow background. The embroidered animals include a lion, monkey, penguin, giraffe, panda, elephant, snake, zebra, rhino, hippo, seal, and platypus. It has been machine quilted in outlines of the blocks, the sashing and border.

Each animal block is carefully hand embroidered in colorful cross stitch-style embroidery with the animal names stitched beside them. The back is a tiny yellow print as is the binding that has been machine stitched to the front and hand-stitched to the back. The batting is lightweight.

CONDITION: The quilt has been freshly laundered and is in excellent vintage condition with no issues noted. (It has been laundered with fragrance-free detergent and line-dried, giving a light natural sun-dried scent (not artificially fragranced)).
