This striking sunflower quilt, dating to the 1970s, features twenty-four large hand appliquéd sunflowers arranged to form a bold floral border surrounding an open center, with each sunflower hand-embroidered with details. The oversized blossoms have bright golden-yellow petals, rich brown centers, and deep green leaves. The green, yellow and brown border goes around all four sides.
The hand quilting is in a large center-medallion sunflower with a dense crosshatch center, in smaller sunflowers in the open white areas and in straight line grids along the four sided border.
The back is white cotton while the brown border has been turned to the back and handstitched to form the binding. The batting is lightweight.
CONDITION: The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with no issues noted. Please review all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the description.
