  • Details
Vintage pink and white Four Patch quilt dating to the late 1930s to 1940s. The quilt measures 61” x 81” and is pieced in a simple two-color arrangement of small pink printed cotton squares against solid white cotton.

The pink fabric is a small-scale novelty/floral print with white starburst-style motifs, tiny red dots, and scattered dark accents. The print, color palette, cotton quality, and construction are all consistent with quilts made during the late Depression era through the 1940s.

The Four Patch units are arranged diagonally across the quilt, creating continuous pink chains against the white ground.

The hand quilting is tiny and even and in diagonals throughout the quilt. It has a plain white cotton backing and a narrow bright pink binding that is machine stitched to the front and handstitched to the back. The cotton batting is lightweight and thin.

CONDITION: Very good vintage condition. Please examine the photos carefully as they form an important part of the description. The quilt has been soaked, freshly hand washed and line dried, giving it a light, natural, sun-dried cotton scent (not artificially fragranced).
