Vintage 1930s Firecracker Quilt – Hand Pieced & Hand Quilted – Raspberry Red and Yellow – 60” x 78”

This striking vintage Firecracker Quilt dates to the late 1930s to early 1940s and features an unusual and vibrant combination of raspberry red, bright yellow, and white cotton fabrics.

The quilt is composed of repeating Firecracker blocks arranged in alternating directions, creating a secondary geometric design of interlocking diamonds and diagonal pathways. White sashing separates the blocks, with small yellow squares at the intersections.

The quilt has been hand pieced and extensively hand quilted, with outline quilting through the blocks and closely spaced quilting throughout the white sashing.

The back is a charming small-scale pink floral cotton print on a light background that has been turned to the front and handstitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is unsized and lightweight.

CONDITION: The quilt is in very good vintage condition. It displays beautifully, with strong colors and attractive, well-defined quilting. There is a small amount of yellow color transfer in several blocks. Please examine the photographs carefully as they form an important part of the description.
