$439.00

  • Details
This exquisite Crossroads Quilt dates to the 1940s or early 1950s retains its vibrant colors and beautiful original appearance as it has been stored away and is in never-been-displayed or washed condition.

The quilt features 80 individually pieced Crossroads blocks arranged in a 10-by-8 pattern. Each block has bright pink printed cotton pieces crossing over a yellow center square, with contrasting burgundy floral or dark green plaid corners. The blocks are separated by cream-colored sashing with a delicate multicolored print and surrounded by a wide, vivid red border featuring a small black floral design.

The hand quilting is exceptionally done in a diagonal grid through the patchwork and in a modified braided rope pattern through the four-sided border.

The back is a lovely navy blue cotton with tiny white flowers while the binding is a narrow red cotton that has been machine stitched to the front and handstitched to the back. The cotton batting is very lightweight and thin.

CONDITION: Exquisite vintage condition. This quilt has never been washed and has been exceptionally well preserved. The fabrics retain their beautiful, vibrant original colors, and the fine hand quilting is especially impressive. Please examine the photos carefully as they form an important part of the description.
