This vibrant vintage Good Fortune quilt dates to the late 1910s to 1920s and features 36 vibrant blocks arranged in a six-by-six pattern. Each block contains four contrasting fabric triangles crossed by yellow printed cotton strips, with small red and orange squares at their centers. The blocks are separated by bright pink patterned sashing with orange printed cornerstones.
The fabrics include a wide assortment of period cotton prints in blue, green, gray, black, brown, and cream, including florals, paisleys, plaids, stripes, and small geometric designs. The yellow and pink fabrics provide a consistent background for the varied prints.
The hand-quilting is in echo quilting in the patchwork and in geometric patterns along the sashing and border. The back is pieced from contrasting cottons, including a blue-gray plaid and a brown-and-cream geometric print. The back fabrics have been turned to the front and handstitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is lightweight and thin.
CONDITION: The quilt is in very good condition with strong colors. Please examine all photographs as they form an important part of the description.
