Charming crib size 1930s Thousand Pyramids quilt featuring hundreds of small, individually pieced cotton triangles in a colorful assortment of Depression-era prints. The fabrics include floral prints, plaids, checks, polka dots, stripes, geometric designs, and novelty prints in shades of pink, blue, turquoise, green, yellow, red, and burgundy.
The triangles are arranged in a geometric pattern without traditional sashing or borders as is the traditional thousand pyramids pattern. The hand quilting is closely spaced stitching in outlines of the individual triangles. The top and bottom follow the outlines of the quilt creating a scalloped edge while the sides are straight.
The back is cream white cotton while the binding is blue cotton that has been handstitched to both sides. The cotton batting is lightweight.
