Vintage 1960s–1970s String Quilt – Hand Quilted – Colorful Scrappy Patchwork – 60” x 73”

This is a scrappy and colorful vintage String Quilt dating to the late 1960s to early 1970s and made of bright cotton prints arranged in diagonal strips. The quilt incorporates vivid royal blue, yellow, lime green, red, and navy fabrics, including small-scale florals, geometric prints, stripes, plaids, and novelty patterns.

The diagonal fabric strips have been assembled into square blocks with wide strips of solid royal blue appearing throughout the quilt, providing a contrast to the patterned fabrics.

The quilt is hand quilted in closely spaced diagonal lines that follow the direction of the patchwork strips. The back is a bright lime green cotton print with blue-and-white geometric floral designs. The quilt has been knife-edge finished and handstitched closed. The batting is lightweight.
