This Hexagon Star Quilt was made in the 1930s or early 1940s from pastel feedsack prints that remain bright and cheerful. It has been entirely hand-quilted in outlines of the patchwork in very tiny stitches.
The back is white cotton as is the binding that has been machine stitched to the front and hand-stitched to the back. The cotton batting is very lightweight.
As can be seen in the photos, this quilt is in poor, well-worn condition with several holes, seam separations, fraying and thinning fabric. The binding is also extensively frayed.
The quilt comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home. It measures 77 inches by 89 inches. Shown on a queen-size bed.
