  • Details
This Depression-era quilt fragment was made between 1930 and 1940 and features dozens of charming feedsack and dress prints in reds, blues, pinks, plaids, ginghams and novelty fabrics. Every small square (2 1/4 inch square) is hand-stitched and most seams are reinforced with blanket stitching - a classic make-do technique used in the 1930s.

It has been foundation-pieced onto blocks of denim, black cotton and geometric feedsack fabrics.

its condition is worn, but sturdy, with some seam separations, small stains, and edge losses.

The quilt piece is irregularly shaped and measures 29 inches by 38 inches and its narrowest point.
