This beautiful hand-pieced 1930s Garden Walk Quilt is a much rarer variation of the Grandmother's Flower Garden pattern and is made of thousands of hexagons. It is made of feedsack and dress prints -- polka dots, plaids, florals and pastels giving it an unmistakable Depression-era look. It is hand-quilted in closely-spaced double contour lines throughout.
The back is white cotton while the binding is green cotton that has been hand-stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is unsized and lightweight.
Most of the quilt is in very good, though slightly faded, condition, but unfortunately the quilt has scattered small holes, a frayed binding and some toning/tan spots on the back making it in cutter or crafting condition. See photos.
The quilt is clean and soft and comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home. It measures 78 inches by 88 inches. Shown on a queen-size bed.
