Beautiful Sugar Loaf Quilt, circa 1930s, this quilt is a mix of bold red diamonds andwith soft pastel feedsack prints, all hand-pieced and densely hand-quilted. With these colors and the Sugar Loaf pattern, this is a classic farmhouse decor/Americana decor quilt. It has been quilted in outlines of the diamonds and -- in the white areas -- in an identical diamond pattern.
The back is white cotton that has been turned to the front and machine-stitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is unsized and lightweight.
Though most of the quilt is in very good condition, it is listed as a cutter/crafting quilt because of the 26 full and half Sugar Loaf blocks, about 9 have experienced some degree of fabric loss and the binding on two sides has extensive fraying.
The quilt is clean and soft comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home. It measures 63 inches by 73 inches. Shown on a queen-size bed.
