A beautiful vintage Four Patch quilt, handmade during the Depression-era, circa 1935–1945. This quilt features a classic alternating four-patch design set against vivid green solid blocks, creating a fresh, graphic look.
The quilt is constructed entirely of cotton fabrics, using a mix of period prints typical of the 1930s–1940s, including small florals, dots, and shirting-style patterns. The bright green solid blocks are a commercially dyed cotton from the era, providing wonderful contrast and visual rhythm throughout the quilt. The border is a mix of the green fabric (quilted in diagonals) and a simple, but striking patchwork. It is envelope-finished with a knife-edge border (no separate binding). The cotton batting is very lightweight.
It is quilted in a simple, but expertly-done even grid pattern, reflecting its original purpose as a practical, everyday bed quilt. The backing is a small floral cotton print consistent with 1930s fabrics.
It is in excellent, very lightly used vintage condition with no condition issues noted.
