This beautiful 1940s quilt features striking Ohio Star blocks with bluework embroidered centers, each stitched by hand with classic mid-century motifs—birds, flowers, fruit sprays, and scrolling florals. The vivid blue stars stand out sharply against a crisp white background, giving the quilt a timeless cottage or farmhouse look. Entirely hand quilted, the quilting includes sunburst medallions, interlocking circles, and diamond-grid stitching throughout with impeccable quilting in tiny, even and painstaking stitches. The embroidery is also finely executed and remains strong and intact.
The back is white cotton while the binding is blue cotton that has been machine stitched to the front and hand-stitched to the back. The cotton batting is lightweight.
Excellent vintage condition with no issues noted.
The quilt has been soaked, hand washed and line-dried and is clean and soft and measures 80 inches by 81 inches. It is pictured on a queen-size bed.
