Authentic 1930–1940 American patchwork quilt featuring a bold Eight-Pointed Scrappy Star pattern, hand pieced from a lively mix of vintage cotton scraps and alternating solid orange blocks. Each star is built from dozens of saved fabric pieces — florals, stripes, novelty prints, and feedsack cottons — creating a joyful, scrappy folk-art design. No two stars are exactly alike.
This quilt was made during the Depression era, when thrift and creativity defined American quilt-making. It is entirely hand pieced and hand quilted in repeating shell patterns, with visible running stitches and a traditional plain cotton-muslin back. The binding is orange/cheddar cotton that has been machine stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is lightweight.
This quilt is in excellent vintage condition and appears to have been very lightly used or safely stored for decades. No condition issues found.
