Vintage Ocean Waves Quilt with ZigZag Border – Red and White Hand Quilted Patchwork | 54" by 68"

This vintage Ocean Waves quilt features a bold red-and-white color palette arranged in flowing, interconnected wave motifs created through expertly done, intricate triangular piecing. A dramatic zigzag pieced border frames the design.

Handmade circa 1930s, this quilt reflects traditional American quiltmaking from the Depression to early post-war era. It is entirely hand quilted in diagonals, outlines of the patchwork and diamonds. The back is white cotton that has been turned to the front and hand-stitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is lightweight.

It is in very good vintage condition with fabric loss in some of the red and black checked cotton (see photos). Condition is reflected in the price, but because of this wear the quilt is best suited for decorative display, collection, or careful light use, rather than daily bedding.
