Vintage 1930s Flower Basket Quilt – Hand Quilted – Feedsack Florals – 60” x 72”

This charming vintage Flower Basket Quilt dates to the late 1930s to early 1940s and features a pieced basket filled with half-square triangle “flowers,” set against soft cream backgrounds and framed by a delicate red-and-blue calico print typical of the 1930s. The fabrics include cheerful feed sack florals, stripes, polka dots, and small-scale prints in pink, turquoise, yellow, green, and red—classic colors of the period. A bright red binding frames the quilt beautifully.

The quilt is entirely hand quilted with tiny stitches in outlines of the basket patchwork and in square grids in the blocks in-between.

The back is a cream-pink cotton while the binding is red cotton that has been machine-stitched to the front and hand-stitched to the back. The cotton batting is lightweight.

The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with visible pink dye transfer (likely from the red binding some time ago). See photos.
