This beautiful antique LeMoyne Star quilt dates to approximately 1920–1930 and features an impressive 90 hand-pieced eight-point stars, each measuring 6” x 6”. It is made in a palette of sky blues, butter yellows, warm browns, raspberry pinks, and gentle neutrals, all framed by classic blue plaid sashing.. Every block is hand pieced and hand quilted in outlines of the patchwork.
The back is a very soft white cotton that has been turned to the front and hand-stitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is lightweight.
Condition: This quilt is being offered as a cutter quilt due to fabric loss in some of the star blocks. • 23 of the 90 stars show fabric loss ranging from very minor thinning to more significant breakdown (see photographs). • The remaining 67 stars are in excellent condition. • Sashing and backing are strong and stable. • Several minor and very small toning spots
