Antique 1890s Red and White LeMoyne Star Cutter Quilt – Hand Quilted – 66” x 77”

This striking antique red and white LeMoyne Star quilt dates to approximately 1890–1915 and features bold eight-point stars set in alternating solid red, classic Turkey red blocks.
The quilt is entirely hand pieced and hand quilted, with simple grid quilting in the solid blocks and radiating quilting lines in the stars.

The back is cream/white that has been turned to the front and hand-stitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is unsized and lightweight.

While about 90 percent of the quilt is intact and in excellent condition, due to border deterioration, minor spots and toning, scattered fabric loss, and fraying of the border—particularly along the edges and in some white areas—the quilt is being sold as a cutter quilt.
