This is a really gorgeous vintage Cactus Basket Quilt that uses a wide array of period prints from the 1930s with deep red baskets with Nile Green centers set against a crisp white ground. The period fabrics that make up the flowers include: • Feed sack florals in lavender, rose, and maize. • Geometric "grid" prints and delicate shirtings.
The hand-quilting is remarkably dense and fine, in outlines of the patchwork and a tight diamond grid diamond pattern in the white areas. The back is white cotton, while the binding is a deep red cotton that has been hand-stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is lightweight.
The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with no issues noted.
