$499.00

  • Details
This charming 1930s Postage Stamp Quilt is a wonderful example of Depression-era resourcefulness and scrap quilting with more than 4,000 tiny (1-inch) hand-stitched squares made up of a variety of classic 1930s feedsack prints including pastel florals, tiny calicos, playful polka dots, shirting stripes, and small novelty prints. There is also a unique four-sided, four-patch-on-point border.

As small as the patchwork is, the hand-quilting is even tinier with precise stitches in "X's" through every tiny patch. The back is white cotton that has been turned to the front and hand-stitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is very lightweight.

The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with one tiny seam separation.
