This 1940s Dresden Plate quilt is a simple variation of the classic pattern with scattered circular plates set against a bright white ground. Each Dresden plate is made of wedge-shaped blades in an assortment of feedsack and scrap fabrics, including florals, ginghams, stripes, and novelty prints typical of the 1930s–1940s era.
The hand quilting is in evenly spaced horizontal grids, spaced less than 1/2 inch apart throughout the quilt. The back is also white cotton while the front of the quilt has been turned to the back and hand-stitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is lightweight.
CONDITION: The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with no issues noted.
