This is a charming, well-loved Grandmother’s Flower Garden Quilt, circa 1930s, made of soft florals, feedsack prints, and delicate pastels typical of the era, all surrounded by a green pathway. It is entirely hand-pieced with more than 2,500 hexagons and hand-quilted in outlines of each of them.
The back is white cotton while the binding is green cotton that has been hand-stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is very lightweight.
CONDITION: The quilt is clean and sturdy and has the kind of gentle, timeworn presence that is perfect for an authentic farmhouse, primitive or cottage interior, draped over a bed, layered on a bench, or as a textile accent. It is being offered as a cutter quilt due to the condition issues that are pictured in the photos: * Noticeable fabric loss and wear in some of the flower rosettes * Areas of fraying, thinning, and breakdown consistent with age and use
