Vintage Burgoyne Surrounded Variation Quilt: 1930s; Quilt for Crafters (66" x 77")

This Burgoyne Surrounded Variation Quilt is hand-pieced in the classic Depression-era palette of bubblegum pink, Nile green, cream and soft white. This popular, yet relatively rare pattern is known for its intricate looped rings, tiny patchwork squares (1-inch) and striking geometric motion. It has been quilted with a sewing machine in straight lines throughout the quilt.

The back is white cotton while the original binding has been covered up two-inch satin binding that has been machine-stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is very lightweight.

The quilt is in generally good condition, but unfortunately it has visible wear and several areas of fabric thinning and fabric loss especially along the border, but also in spots in the body of the quilt. See photos.

The quilt is clean, soft and comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home. It measures 66 inches by 77 inches. Shown on a queen-size bed.
