$189.00

  • Details
This is a beautiful, time-worn example of a 1930s or 1940s Monastery Windows Quilt, made with a lovely mix of feedsack-era and depression-era prints in pinks, blues, peach, and florals. The curved white “window” pieces frame the fabrics and the quilt is entirely hand pieced and hand quilted, with the quilting in outlines of the patchwork.

The back is white cotton while the binding is a teal floral cotton print that has been machine stitched to the front and hand-stitched to the back. The cotton batting is lightweight.

CONDITION: While more than 90% of the quilt remains completely intact and the quilt still displays beautifully, is a well-loved and timeworn quilt with significant wear consistent with age and use:
    * Fabric thinning that has resulted in significant wear along one border and in several of the white areas (see photos)
    * Overall age-related fading of the fabrics
The quilt has been soaked and hand-washed and is clean and overall sturdy.
